Dr William Axtell Dentist Pleasant View TN

William Axtell, DMD

Your Dentist in Pleasant View, TN

Dr. William Axtell is a dedicated family and general dentist who combines advanced training with a compassionate approach to care. After earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, he completed a General Practice Residency at Augusta University and The Dental College of Georgia, where he received advanced training in comprehensive dentistry, hospital-based care, and sedation techniques.

He has extensive training in both oral and IV sedation dentistry, and sedation care has become a cornerstone of his practice. Dr. Axtell understands that dental anxiety is common, and he takes pride in offering safe, comfortable options that help patients receive the care they need with confidence and ease.

Dr. Axtell is also well-trained in dental implant therapy, from single-tooth replacement to full-mouth rehabilitation. His expertise includes implant-supported fixed prostheses (All-on-X) and implant-retained overdentures, offering patients a wide range of solutions to restore function, comfort, and confidence in their smiles. In addition to caring for patients directly, he has also trained other dentists in advanced and complex implant procedures through specialized courses.

Beyond implants and sedation, Dr. Axtell provides a full scope of general, restorative, cosmetic, and surgical dentistry, including crowns, veneers, root canal therapy, aesthetic restorations, extractions, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, sinus lift procedures, and Invisalign® care. His comprehensive training allows him to provide nearly all aspects of dental care under one roof.

He also has a strong commitment to service, having volunteered his skills to treat patients with a history of substance abuse, providing compassionate dental care to underserved populations.

Outside the office, Dr. Axtell loves skiing, traveling, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys being with his family and staying active in the community. His philosophy is simple: treat every patient like family and create lasting relationships built on trust, honesty, and excellent care.

Eve Mehallow

Dental Hygienist

Hello, my name is Eve Mehallow and I am Highland Dental's Hygienist. I have almost 25 years experience as a Dental Hygienist. My goal is to provide a thorough and compassionate dental cleaning experience. No matter how long you have been away, we are here to answer your questions and help you achieve a healthy smile. I am grateful to be a team member of Highland Family Dental.

Our family and doggie moved to Coopertown, TN from Northwest Ohio in the summer of 2021, after my husband Jim was offered a great job opportunity in Nashville. My son, Austin attends college at Franciscan in Steubenville, Ohio. He is in a pre-nursing program right now.

Our family is enjoying the beautiful scenery in Tennessee and looking forward to camping and exploring the many State parks we have here. We are always looking for good restaurants to try out also.

Keaton Morrissey

Lead Dental Assistant

I was born and raised in middle Tennessee, so naturally I love the outdoors and all that comes with it! I grew up playing competitive softball and volleyball as well as graduating top of my class. I am an expanded functions dental assistant who has been in the dental field since 2011. I have broad training in the dental field not only in general dentistry, but pediatrics, oral surgery, and orthodontics as well. Raised in a small town myself, I know the importance being able to make patients of all ages feel comfortable in a dental setting and to know that they are truly receiving the best quality care. I strive to be able to educate patients on their treatment and oral health as well as comfort those who may feel uneasy in the dental chair. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, listening to true crime podcasts, and relaxing by the water!

Keaton is an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant; this designation means she has undergone extensive additional training, both didactic and clinical, and passed multiple examinations to be certified by the state to place fillings and perform additional procedures. She has trained under Dr. Carlson for 3 years and possesses a thorough understanding of both the biology and material sciences necessary to place her restorations to the highest standard of care.
